The second day at any fashion week is usually one either scheduled with military precision or done in a mad rush. Somehow, for me it’s always the latter which just makes it more interesting.

Sprinting through the blasting showers, I just about made it in the first show of the day: Maharishi. With no coffee in my system, I was very happy to receive a punching doze of martial arts and combat strength. Black ninjas, draped in shades of camouflage prints attacked the catwalk. What I found new and interesting was the disruptive pattern ‘DPM: MAHSAT Europe’ found in digitally printed satellite maps on black base. The inspiration for the collection came from the 24-hour surveillance of the world we live in today and how our identity is exposed to the various government agencies and corporations that want to control us. Thought provoking and inspiring collection that was, Maharishi is definitely a brand to watch!

Astrid Andersen.

Настроението беше ясно: “don’t mess with me”.

It only made sense to follow up with Astrid Andersen and her street machines.

Vibrant pink as seen on delicate lacing and lilac shades unassumingly made the fighters even stronger in their attitude: ‘don’t mess with me!’

In contrast to the fighting mode of the first half of the day, YMC delivered a breathe of fresh air to me.

Their well known and praised for normcore uniform in shades of navy and grey were broken with a powerful zesty yellow. Absolutely loved it and just can’t stop thinking about that lemony bomber jacket: hope they will make that for the girls as well.

Soho.

Talking about bright colours, what came next was even more striking: red, as seen in the sex alleys of Soho.

Hentsch Man presented their peep show exactly there, with boys chilling and enjoying the attention. The bar just next door catered for the hungry with rum cocktails: nom nom.

Holborn!

For the end of the day I chose to see Soulland and their presentation did not disappoint. The setting was the dramatic interior of the St George Church in Holborn, the perfect contrast to the technological details embedded in this showcase. Green screens behind each model came to live through the specially designed for the event app.

Innovation always wins green points in the fashion world, so ‘Soulland, you’ve got me hooked!’
